Top 10 Places To Visit in Lagos This Yuletide

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas in advance. Are you in Lagos, Nigeria (there is a Lagos in Portugal) for the yuletide and you are in want of places to visit? I have compiled a list of 10 places you could visit in Lagos, Nigeria this yuletide. They are listed in no particular order. I have been to most of these places and I am looking forward to visiting and revisiting them. After all, all write and no play can be boring as hell.

1.   Elegushi Beach

Elegushi is located off Lekki expressway (off the 3rd roundabout. I think). It is one of my favourite private beaches in Lagos. Not that it is the cleanest or clearest. Nope. But the night life on the beach is spuflix (I wish that was a real word). I would recommend you go in the evening, rather than when the sun is high in the sky.  There’s a N1,000 gate fee/person and N200 parking fee/car.

  1. Lekki Conservation Centre (LCC)

The LCC has a huge tract of wetlands set aside for wildlife viewing, located at kilometer 19 along the Lagos-Epe Expressway. You get started by going through a long nature trial (you’d love this) which leads you into the thick of the forest, and then, to the canopy walkway, and then, to an open recreational spot. The canopy walkway is the longest in Africa. Access fee to the nature trail is N1,000, and another N1,000 to use the canopy walkway.  The last time I was here, I thought I was lost after walking through the forest for over 30 minutes without seeing an “exit route”. It was interestingly scary. I will definitely revisit this place.

  1. Lekki Leisure Lake

Lekki Leisure Lake is a lake side resort overlooking the Atlantic in the Lekki peninsula area. Entry fee is between N1,000 – N2,000, depending if it’s a weekend or a public hol. Some fun stuff to do there include: Jet skiing (N5,000), Water craft (flexible rates), Floats (flexible rates), Quad biking etc. The last time I was here, I particularly enjoyed the quad biking.

  1. Omu Resort

Omu resort is a multihub fun spot. It combines adventure, nature and history all together in one. This resort is located at Bogije Town, Almost Opp. Lakowe Lakes Golf Course, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.  Gate fee is between N3,000 – N7,000 per individual. Attractions include Zoo, Amusement Park, Quad Biking, Archery, Go Karting etc. I have never been here, but it tops my list of places to visit this yuletide.

  1. Hi Impact Planet

This is an amusement park located at KM 12, Lagos-Ibadan Express Way, Opp MFM, Ibafo. Access fee range from N5,000 – N15,000. I WILL VISIT THIS PLACE. Everyone who has been there and back says it is a must-visit. It may be pricey, but I want to believe the fun will be worth it.

  1. La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort

La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort is situated at the coast of the Atlantic Ocean bordered by the freshwaters of Ikegun Lake at Ibeju-Lekki. Fun stuff to do whilst on the beach include water sports, quad biking, snooker, board games etc. You can also lodge into their chalets/suites.

If you’ve had too many beach outings and would rather go for something more solemn, I would recommend you visit a few Art Galleries. A couple are hereunder recommended.

  1. Rele Art Gallery

This art gallery is located at No. 5, Military Street, Onikan. I have driven past this place a couple of times without knowing it was there. I only just discovered it about a week ago.

  1. Nike Art Gallery.

I read this is the largest Art Gallery in West Africa (Wikipedia). It is located at No. 2, Elegushi Road,

3rd Roundabout, Epe Expressway, Ikate Cross Road, Lekki Phase 1 Peninsula.

  1. Terra Kulture

Terra Kulture is a leading art, culture, lifestyle, and educational centre located in Lagos, Nigeria, with an attached restaurant. It is located in the heart of Victoria Island’s buzzing business district, Terra Kulture serves as the recreational and cultural hub of the neighbourhood. My favourite places there are the Art gallery and food court. I particularly love their art gallery and food court. The books in their bookstore are a bit pricey.

And here is something for the romantics….

  1. Epe Resort and Spa

If you would rather be at a quiet and serene place this yuletide, Epe Resort and Spa is your place. It is located at Itoikin Road, Epe Lagos. This is a good spot for romantics/newly weds looking to bond intimately. You can check into any of their suites which range from N39,500 – N54,500. The only time I was here was when I had lunch there. Good cuisine.
